Paintings: Listening to the Earth and Flora
Like many people, I veer between grief and hope when I think of climate change. Some of the paintings in the series celebrate the beauty of the earth, especially its wildflowers and bodies of water. But the series also shows what we’re losing—the frogs, the bees, the butterflies—and portrays some of the effects of higher temperatures: wildfires and algae blooms. At the same time, I still feel hope: I’m inspired by activists, new environmental protections, and the resilience of the earth itself. And I believe in taking action.
